• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I be concerned that my Spyder has no need for pressing the Mode Button before starting?

I view the need to hit the Mode button on my RT as a good security device. The typical bike thief likely will not know about this, and even if I inadvertently left the key in the ignition, a "crime of opportunity" bike thief likely would not be able to start the bike, and at 1,000 pounds its not likely to be lifted into the back of a pickup.

Not to mention that ALL 2024 and newer Spyders will start right away. With the new switch packs you can turn the key on, roll the throttle and hit the starter, you don't have to wait for the safety message.

I have a 2022 RTL. I press and hold the brake pedal down, turn the key on, press the mode button, and hit the starter. I don't have to wait for the safety message. Not much different from the 2024's startup procedure. In fact, I believe this is the same procedure since 2020 for the RT's.
