• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shot a hawk today

Nice pics of the birds! I haven't seen to many owls, despite living in a rural area all my life. Quite a few hawks around here though; mostly Red Tails.

Me too!

Man I was thinking, What a ASS! Glad I read more before I posted :yikes: Now I can say nice picture!

THE OTHER VIEW

I have a 1187 with the longest choke available loaded with turkey shot to kill every hawk that I can. Have any of you saw them carry off a small dog, cat, rabbit, squirrel, fish, chicken or any other small animal to the worst death possible? I know some bleeding hearts say that it is natures way, and it is, but I think that me protecting my pets is also natures way. By the way, I love walking around my pond every morning feeding the fish as they follow me, and I also blow away any other fish eating bird that I can. One day I shot one of them sitting on the dock and as it fell in the water I thought the fish can eat him. At that time Lucy (my Lab) jumped in and brought him back to me. That's the rest of the story.

I had to pop off a Red Tail last week, It was going after song birds at my feeder, But it wasn't a total waste,
If you stick it in an oven at 350 for 45 minutes you'll swear your eating Bald Eagle....:rolleyes:

I have lots of owls at night that swing by here hooting. Then I start hooting back and sometimes they come closer. I bet they think they are goin to "get some" and then get ticked off that not an owl? :roflblack:

LOL! You're trolling those owls. I've never seen a hawk attack any pets... but boy would I sure be ticked off if my dog got carried away by one.

The nest is across the street. The guy there said one of the young ones fell out of the nest and didn't make it. It is way up in a big tree. The hawks came over here for another visit and I got one again.....with the camera.
