• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shorter rider input needed.

My wife is starting to take a liking to the 2012 RT-SE5, but at 5'1" she finds the arm reach to long and would like a backrest that is "adjustable". We are thinking of pulling the trigger on the adjustable handlebars that BRP sells ($650!) and a Utopia backrest (adjust forward in the video). Does this sound like a good plan? Are there any other options we have overlooked?

That it does...

Should work nicely for her. I'm sure you have already shoped around and those will work...:2thumbs:

You have good ideas. Another thought is reduced reach seat from ultimate, with drivers backrest.

Shop around. I just bought the chrome version of the Tri-Axis new for $500. It lists @$799 vice the $625 for the black. I also had to shop around the install, two dealers in this part of NC, one was $325, the other $225.

Or you can just buy my 2014 RT-S that already has the Corbin heated seat with adjustable backrest and about to have tri-axis installed . She'd like that.

The BRP tri-axis adjustable handle bars are the best for short people
and they can be adjusted very easily if someone taller wants to ride or when you sell the bike
I have them and would not do without them
The chrome ones are on sale because nobody wants them. They will blind you in the sunlight
If you get them pay the extra and get the black

I don't like chrome either but for $500 I'll either spray flat black matte or coat with plasti-dip. $125 is $125!!!! I'm the same nut that spent $600 to turn my little CBR into a Repsol replica cuz the dealer wanted $1200 more for the Repsol replica :).

At 5' 4", I am also vertically challenged (I'm also horizontally enhanced thanks to my love of food). I have the Tri-Axis bars and they're great. Our seat is a Russell Day Long - http://www.day-long.com/ with their backrest option (it is adjustable).

I love the Russell Day Long. I'm fortunate that I live in California and I rode up to their shop. They photographed me on the bike and a few weeks later, I was sitting on a cloud. This seat is much more comfortable than the stock seat and it's a better fit for me than the Ultimate seat that I had. I bought the Ultimate based on the reviews that I read. But I have learned that the best reviewer is your own butt (or your your wife's but I don't want to get personal here). Seat height is only part of the equation for us short people. The width also plays a major role. Russell DL thinned out the seat's "wings" for me and that helped a great deal. You do have to send in your seat because they use your seat pan. I bought a used seat and left it with them.

Anyway, I think the Tri-Axis is a great place to start.

do y'all share the RT....if so the handlebars is where I would start...backrest is always good....if this is her RT then Corbin will move the seat forward 2" for her....I'm 5foot even...ride a ST with Corbin moved 2 " forward.....if ya share get her a seat cushion....sitting higher makes it easier to reach
