• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shortee Antena

Anyone had any experience with the Custom Dynamics Chrome Shortee Antenna??? Would like to put one on my RT LTD but want to make sure that the reception doesn't change with the length change as well as the chrome on it.

I put one on my RT a few weeks ago and really like it. The reception is perfect and it makes it much easier when putting on a cover. Plus I think it looks pretty cool. I got the "chrome" one and I don't think it really has any chrome on it. It's just the natural silver color of the metal. It looks great and works great.

I replaced the stock antenna about a year ago with the "chrome" shorty one but I have experienced a reduction in the range that it will pick up a radio station. The station that I listen to the most used to haver a range of about 80 miles outside of the St. Louis area and now I can only pick it up between 65 and 70 miles.:dontknow: Still I like the look of it and it is easier to put a cover on the :spyder:. Just my opinion.

Good information. So far, I've only used mine within the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex so I haven't tested the range. For me, the look and ease of it makes up for a 10-15 mile reduction in range.

I tried one; went back to the original due to the reduction in reception. If you live in a flat area, where mountains don't block the signals; you might be okay with it... nojoke

Any feedback on the one from Walmart? Better signal?

The WalMart one seemed to work just as well as the OEM for me. I replaced the OEM on my 2010 with the WalMart version when it fell off. Warranty got me a new one, so I went back to the OEM.

There were some posts a couple years back that the chrome came off the CD antennas and they rusted after about a year or so. No comments about that recently. Maybe they got that issue solved.

i put one on my 2010 RT in 2010, and it was all I had until I sold it. Put one on my 2014 within a week of purchase - works fine for me, in Oregon. I much prefer the looks, and it does a fine job doubling as my flag post/holder. Did that on both of my RTs.
