There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What type of helmet are you looking for?

The Helmet Doctor... best advise I would give is find out what shape head you have and try on many different helmets until you find one that fits like a glove.
Best chart that I found was from webbikeworld.com
That's how I found the perfect fitting helmet for my oval head, the Arai Profile...
It fit me so perfectly I couldn't accept that this was the only helmet that really fit me. So I tried on quite a few others and came back to the Arai... There are many other good manufactures out there ... bottom line make sure it fits perfectly.

I bought a Givi X01...not DOT or Snell rated but it does meet European standards (which I hear are about to be accepted in the US). Helmet costs $370 but I LOVE it. Has two chin bars (summer and winter) which make it a full face or you can remove the chin bar completely and get the "jet" look. Has air vents (summer) or they can be covered (covers provided). Has clear windshield and a smoked inner visor...you can choose your own configuration

My 2 cents...
After riding for almost 20 years and going through quite a few helmets, I just recently learned that there are different shaped helmets that fit differently shaped heads.
Some are long and narrow, front to back. Some are more round. Some are more oval. Arai actually classifies theirs by shape. Other manufacturers just make theirs in a certain shape.
So try some on, and wear them around the store for a little while, then pay attention to pressure on your forehead or jaw - that's what will drive you crazy after a couple of hours on the road.
