There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. My sister has had them the last couple of weeks, so I know it is painful, she got a vaccine right away and that helped ease the duration.:pray::pray:

Get to your doctor fast.

Get a prescription for Valtrex, I had shingles three years ago on the side of my face Dr. prescribed Valtrex and the rash was gone in a week and a half but it has to be started very soon or it will not work.
I started taking it three days after the rash broke out and it worked.
The most dangerous place to have shingles is on your nose because it can travel into your brain through the sinus cavity.
It is contagious while you have a rash so be careful around other people.

Good luck with it, Gary

I got them last fall on my :gaah: let's just say it would not have been comfortable no matter what brand seat I would have put on my RT. Missed diagnosed for two weeks. Lyica did wonders in cutting down on the pain.

 Shingles belong up on the roof; not on you! I'm sending prayers your way so that you can get them back where they belong!:pray:

 Prayers heading your way for a rapid recovery so you can still make it to SpyderFest. wishing you the best.

Quick..!!

Sorry to hear, hope you nail them down quick so you can move on to the fest..good luck..!!:pray:

Lyrica for the nerve pain. Valtrex to control the outbreak. Shingles and chicken pox share the same virus. Valtrex is also used for herpes, but the virus is different, but closely related. I had 2 bouts of the shingles 6 and 7 years ago. They only lasted a few days but sucked. From what I was told by my doctor, I was one of the lucky ones to have experienced such a short duration attack of the shingles. I have known people who had it much worse. Some for weeks or months. Even when outbreak disappears, it can leave behind nerve damage that is painful and last for a long time. In extreme cases, for the rest if your life.

Consider getting the shingles vaccine BEFORE you have an outbreak. I woke up one morning and noticed what appeared to be a rash on my left butt cheek down my left leg. It quickly developed into a very aggravating situation. I went to the doctor right away, not because I knew what it was, but I was alarmed from the appearance. Initially, not a lot of discomfort, but that changed quickly.

Shingles usually begins at the base of the spine and travels along a string of nerve endings. That is why it may travel down one leg, but not both. Or one side if the face but not the other. Feel the base of your spine. You may have a small, itchy spot. If it was too itchy, you may have rubbed it and it has scabbed over. Remember having the chicken pox? Same kind of scab.

The virus is harbored in the base of the spine and has probably been there since you had the chicken pox as a kid. People over 65 are prone to shingles more then younger people. People with poor, or impacted, immune systems are more likely to develop the shingles.

Let's hope you are having a mild ( but still very unpleasant) outbreak.
