• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Shifting problem

This morning on my RT with semi automatic shifter I could not get it out of 1st gear. I took it up to about 6,000 rpm and finally got it to go into second, then at 6,000 again into third. As I started to slow down it started downshifting immediately. It usually does not downshift until you are almost at a stop. I turned the bike off, tired again, same results. I turned it off again and all is well. This is a 2011 that has 10,000 miles and I have never experienced this shifting problem. Any idea as to what the problem was.

Check your oil level; these bikes are pretty sensitive to low-oil conditions, and it shows up in the shifting.

There you go...!!

good starting place..oil level and condition. Check and see if the indicator is showing the next gear. There are sensors and selenoids that can cause these problems as well as clutch weights. Has it been stored and just getting out, when was the last oil and filter change, does it have the new filter..?? Hope it is just the oil...

Interesting, I had the same thing happen with my 2011 yesterday. Just turned 11,000 miles. Going to check the oil this PM and see if that works also. Hoping its not a problem more than that. Have so far, put a 1000 miles on it in the last couple weeks with no problem.

Update: Adding oil seems to be the problem solver for my issue. The :ani29: is shifting much better now. Going to make my beginning of year service appointment anyway though.

WHEW!
I thought that Linda might be getting a new bike also!
