• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shifting problem on 2012 Limited RT

All of a sudden I can't get the bike to shift into the gears and the paddle seems looser. Worked fine at first today then I can't get it past 3rd gear. RPM's ar staying high when it goes back to 1st gear on downshift. Help please!

We just struck a similar problem with our 2010RT, my Wife and I were heading out on a 5hr road trip and got 100m up the road when my Wife exclaimed she couldn't change the gears!!
It wasn't linkages it was the small springs in the Paddle shift, they had virtually disintegrated, these springs are about 6-7mm long and as I don't live close to a Can Am dealer I bought the smallest spring I could from an Auto parts shop; the spring was 15mm so I cut it in half and replaced the broken ones. Careful if you take the shifter apart it has small ball bearings which fly everywhere!! A couple of trial and error with getting the length correct and it now works better than before. So off we went on trip a few hours late. ON journey we stopped at a Can Am dealer and enquired about getting the correct springs and we were told they (BRP) don't sell them separately you have to buy the complete shifter which costs aprox $NZ1000.00 the springs I got cost $NZ5.00 :2thumbs:
