• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shifting of SE6 in Eco mode

When I am in Eco mode the shift arrow comes on for the shift at low speeds it wants to be shifted into 5th gear at 35-40 miles an hour. Also when slowing down it stays in 6th gear all the way down to about 25 mph. Is this normal or do I have a problem ? I took it to the service department where I bought it and they are clueless. They cannot tell me what is normal an their response is read the manual. This is a 2015 RT Limited SE6. They also told me that because the little spring in the cap for headset broke that the whole socket had to be replaced but I can find the cap online for $14. Maybe some one here has some knowledge. Thanks RWC

:agree: Yup! That's how it works..
I decided to just normally shift "down there"... :D
I'm in second at about 10 mph
...3rd at 2o mph...
4th gets grabbed at 27...
5th at 32...
and 6th at about 8 or 39...

...Averaging 39.5 mpg too! nojoke

That is normal and will result in the best gas mileage you are likely to obtain. I have reached as high as 45 mpg on full tank following the little green arrows and not overriding any downshifting.

That is the way ECO mode works.

I prefer the more peppy version of shifting and do not use the ECO.

I usually shift between 3000 and 3500. By ear, but I have it down pretty close. I find the 1330 very comfortable in sixth from 40 and up. The downshifting on the 1330 is also smooth and quiet (no clunks), so I let it do what it wants on the way down, unless I want to shift it down one to punch it (very rare), lots of low end torque to just twist and go.

Gas savings for me were about 1 to 1.5 mpg--so not a consideration in my riding scenarios.

Sounds like you ought to be hunting for a new dealer. I was an ECO mode fan for awhile but ditched it in favor of fun. Through 11,400 miles I'm averaging 36.7 mpg and don't miss that intruding up arrow one darn bit.

Well the up shifting does not bother me as much as the lack of a down shift. On the up shifts it never seems to be bogging down I am just not used to shifting up at such low speeds. Guess I wll get used to irt I do like the improved mileage. RWC

It'll kick down through the gears when the rpms drop low enough...
Actually; BRP has done a bang-up job on the shifting protocols for these bikes. It's WAYYYY better than my 2010 RT was! nojoke
