• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I picked up a new pair of boots and cant slide my foot directly under the shifter. Can it be adjusted? Moved up a bit? I tried a search for the topic with no luck. Thanks in advance for the input.

I had the same problem. I bring my foot in from the side now. I don't believe there is any adjustment for the stock shifter.

If you want to change pegs, the kuryakyn widow pegs have an angle adjustment.

The shifter peg is mounted to a cam, you should be able to loosen the pinch bolt and rotate it to a better position

HDX,

Isn't there a set angular distance between 1st and 5th; so, that if someone moves the shifter too many splines that you might not be able to reach 5th? I'm just asking because I was looking in the service manual and didn't find much.

.

yeah...I really dont like bringing my foot in from the side...I keep missing the shift with my foot at a wierd angle. Did you get used to it after a while? I am tempted to sell the boots and go back to regular shoes...I bought these for safety...but i really dont like the shifting experience nor the fact that I cannot "feel" the shift nor break pedal under my foot.

advice?

Does anyone have any pics of how to make the limited adjustments to the shifter itself?

Thanks again.

I'll chime in here. There is only a small distance change when going from 1st, through neutral, into second. From there, 3rd, fourth, and 5th are the same shifter ratchet distance. The key is that iy works like a ratchet.

Yes, I got used to bringing my foot in from the side. It just a natural movement now.
