• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sheep skin seat cover opinions

I ride a 2012 RT with the original seat. The Spyder spends its life outside because I have no garage. The seat was ripped, torn, and looking terrible. I asked a local upholstery shop how much to re-cover the seat with "pleather" (fake leather). He quoted me $600, which I thought was outrageously high. I bought a genuine sheared sheepskin seat cover, and I love it. Its easy to slip on and off, and secures with elastic straps and leather ties. Since it is 100% real sheepskin, I make sure it doesn't get wet (unless I get caught in the rain). It was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. It looks great, is very comfortable, and hides the ripped and torn original seat. :-)

I am thinking about purchasing sheep skin cover for my seat and I would like to hear opinions of sheep skin covers both pro and con.
Do they really help keep your butt cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter?
My current setup is the stock seat on a 2015 RTS with an airhawk pad and last weekend my butt and back were soaked.
Just received mine in the mail.....looks nice.....time will tell.

I have both an airhawk as well as a sheepskin. I bought the sheepskin from Alaskan Leather out of NM. The sheepskin by itself was not sufficient but it and the airhawk are much better and most days I can ride for 4 hours before I have to go for a bite to eat or at least a cup of coffee.

I currently have an Airhawk and it works well, but in the desert I need a little more and the combo you have will probably do the trick. I have never had a motorcycle butt anyway. 1. Did you get the Large sheepskin from Alaskan Leather? 2. Do you just lay it over the Airhawk?

Thanks, Bob

The Airhawk just sits on the seat, and then the sheepskin is strapped to the seat over top of the Airhawk. If memory serves me correct, Alaska Leather recommends the size sheepskin based on your bike. I believe it was large. The sheepskin comes with tiedown straps attached.

The sheep seem to like them.

Oops, looks like you didn't have permission to post the photo link, or the photo got taken down. I saw it earlier today!

:hun: That pic is showing fine for me?? ;) Both in Gwolf's post AND in your quote! Don't know what's going on, but it seems like it might be with your device &/or software? :dontknow:

Not sure about that 'dangly bit' on the seat cover being too comfortable to sit on tho?!? . :p

Check the message again after you refresh the page. When I opened up the page on my tablet it was there, both this morning and just now. Obviously it displayed from cache the second time. Then I refreshed the page and it disappeared. I never did see it on my PC.

Nope, I think it's 'just you/your devices' - I'm getting the pic fine on everything here.... the android 'phone, both the Android and the Apple tablets, and the windows PC. :dontknow:

I get this message from Google. Not sure what it really means. Do you know?
Your client does not have permission to get URL /proxy/9el7ymyHBEkh_MT3w5djMTD5LuKsokamhHmZ_nbYSiigKW0JYfBg-wQUn5FiO-Ker_tzhkly6hsW3RVE44qHW7btWuN8KPrvRUYWZN9E38qzjFIFimeJzQ from this server. (Client IP address: 24.117.40.21)

Forbidden That’s all we know.
I get the error even with firewall turned off and Norton Auto Protect turned off. I wonder if the Google server doesn't like my Sparklight ISP server.

That lot's a new one on me!? :dontknow:

Is that your IP?? Or is it your Sparklight server?? Whichever, it does sorta look like it's whatever server you are using that's getting told it doesn't have permission to let you see that particular URL, which is where the pic is.... . Not sure why or what's causing it, but I wouldn't put it past Google being behind it all?!
