• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

She could be the one.....

 This Helmet probably doesn't meet your Country's safety regulations...

Sorry to be the one to be negative, because I love my Spyder and your finances aren't really my business, but every indication is that you really can't afford this. Just because you can get financing (and probably at a very high rate) doesn't mean that it's a good idea. I've build some wealth in my life, certainly enough that anything like this is a cash purchase, and staying out of debt is the most important ingredient to living comfortably.

A Spyder isn't something you need, it's something you want. I'd save up and pay for it when you have the money, and by then the price will be far lower anyway and you won't pay an additional half the bike in interest.

I don't expect that you'll take my advice, but I don't feel right not giving you this other perspective.

Dealer Help

My local Can am Dealer have offered to help sell beetle on my behalf because they say I could get a little bit more for it than what Volkswagen are offering. They have asked me to drop beetle of at their dealer next week and they will clean it and advertise it too. All looks hopeful.
They say by keeping the car to pay more off , the car is getting older and therefore the negative equity will go down slowly.
Whilst it is still summer, I may have a chance of selling it.

I totally agree, I think most of us live in a world where we want things now and not tomorrow and finance just makes it easier to have things now, but we all know it isn't healthy for us. Darren keep beetle and pay more off and that is what I am going to do.

I am in complete shock, I really expected my thoughts to fall on deaf ears and am candidly very impressed with the restraint and wisdom you are demonstrating in the face of what I know to be a very high level of personal desire.

I can wait to have you on a Spyder that is bought and paid for, and to see you here often!

Good things come to those who wait;);)

Instead of buying extras for the spyder you don't have, you can use that money to pay down the beetle as well.
By the time you get the spyder something new or different pay have caught your attention.
I know it's hard to wait, I bought in Jan. and love riding my F3S.
I wish you well with your decisions.
Welcome to Spyderlovers.....

Us English folk are like that! We'd rather sit in anticipation of the latest "big thing" until we can afford it rather than cause
ourselves financial deprivation with the "buy it now" attitude. This characteristic while being admirable in essence can cause
extreme stress, weight loss, nail-biting and general irritability! :banghead::lecturef_smilie::roflblack:

oj uk you forgot ...

... and of course stiff upper lip ...
[whilst bottom lip is wobbling like crazy]

PS born and bred in Adelaide SA - more English than the English (back then) lol

No no no!! I didn't forget it......It goes without saying that any mental self-flagellation would be accompanied by a stiff upper lip!

I have never been known to wobble my lips...either of them!

"mental self-flagellation" - hmmm - is that still legal in UK? So many mental images.. :gaah:

Its time to say goodbye to the beetle tomorrow as she is now sold to The Car Buying Group. The journey continues on my mission to get F3-S and I now look forward to hearing from all 4 UK Can am dealers from my request on buying their used demo with a discount(don't expect a huge discount) when they decide to sell it or waiting for any discounts on new F3-S if offered in the future. I expect a long wait, but don't they say "good things come to those who wait"

Darren111 Nearly there, Look at it this way today you are closer to Spyder ownership than you were yesterday
