There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Shad Can Am bags installed

Monkey boy, I would love to see how it's attached. Seems like a nice extra visual alert for rear of this machine. Thanks again.

Running the Shad saddlebags in tandem with the SmoothSpyder backrest myself. Love the extra carrying capacity...usually stash my helmet in one and then extra layers (if need be) in the other. :2thumbs:

Sorry for delay, completely lost track of this thread. Here's a shot of the underside - the wiring I've ringed in red shows where the wires come off for the extra lights:

The 2 wires disappearing into a hole go to the extra lights.

So if you were to fit these you would need this different rear cable. I presume the US models would not have these extra wires coming off.

I'll have a look through some parts diagrams and the shop manual to see if I can find some pictures.

The brackets arrived, so shad bags now on. Very impressed - robust, solid fitment, easy install even with our extra rear indicators. Plus my helmet fits in easily. Jeff is wearing his special Working on a Spyder t-shirt.
Jeff I need that T-Shirt :roflblack:

Got my new 2019 F3 three weeks ago, and ordered the Shad saddlebags and the F3 brackets from BRP Canada. Brackets arrived yesterday, and another box today, which was to be the bags, but was a Ryker part instead. Next thing, the instructions were different that what my machine looks like, so extra fasteners to remove. The bolts which would hold the passenger grab handle were super tight. I had to use an extension handle on the allen wrench, and got three of the bolts out, but the fourth, broke off inside the frame. I spent over an hour with BRP to arrange the return of the wrong part, dealing with my credit card charge, and the shipping of the Shad bags. I did not find out if in stock.

Any tips on removing the broken bolt - BRP used copious amount of blue locktite.

Thanks,
Rick

I installed the same bags on my wife's F3S and put lights on them.
If you contact Shad and order the red lenses for the SH36 side case you can have the lights where the reflectors are.
The light kit is from Admore Lighting https://admorelighting.com/product/shad-sh36-side-case-led-bi-color-kit/?v=707f3a40153b
The light kit has a modulated brake light, Red run and Brake and Amber Turn. I know what you are thinking, amber will not show up thru a red lens but it does perfectly.

If you are interested, let me know I can send you a video of the lights working and also inform you what wire needs to be connected and where. The F3 uses a module that combines the turn signals and brake lights in the same circuit after it leaves the module so you need to connect it prior to the module.

Let me know.

Got my brackets installed finally. Talked to machine shop and talked about heat to the bike frame. Others talked about drilling out and putting a helicoil in .... Got a hold of an old school bike show about 10 miles from me. They told me to bring it in. A couple of guys worked on it and got the old bolt our, without heat, only drilling to get an easy-out in.

Campermac - one of the first posts from me was to increase lighting. I would be interested in the admorelighting kit. If you want to remove one or both bags, is there a quick connect on the wiring harness? Tell me more about your install and yes to the video. Admore has wiring kits for bikes; did you use the standard harness as nothing specific to Can-Am.

Thanks,
Rick

Thanks

There is a quick connect for each bag so you can disconnect them and remove them. I am not currently at home to be able to take pictures for you. Message me your email address and when I get home I will send you some pics and a short video. As for which kit to use, you want to use the universal one since Dave at Admore does not have a plug and play kit for the Spyders because of where you have to connect the wires.
