• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Severe Passenger Microphone Feedback!!

Can anyone help? We splurged with a gift to ourselves and purchased a new set ( 2 of everything ) of Nolan N103's with J&M 584's for my wife and I. I have tried every adjustment I can think of and the feedback is terrible for the passenger set only. If I adjust too low to cut out the feedback I can't hear her. She hears me fine from the front where there is no problems. I even tried a few of the 'band-aid' over the mic 'trick' to decrease sensitivity but it only decreases the effectiveness of the mic as if I lowered it on the controls and really doesn't get rid of the 'squeal'. If I plug into the passenger outlet I get the same thing in MY helmet. This problem is only when plugged into the passenger outlet. Just about one month ago we purchased a new pair of 'Performance' headsets for a pair of 10 year old Nolan flip up helmets and that set worked fine ... no feedback issues. Everything is the 'HO' (high output) microphones.

So, is anyone else having similar issues. Don't know what to do. We love these helmets. The clarity is fantastic. Besides they cost way more than $1.50!!!! If I have to buy her a new setup then so be it but which one?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance ... THANKS!!!

Have you tried going back to your old headsets? You should be able to plug them in without having to install them into a helmet. If the old ones work fine then there is some incompatibility with the set up you're trying to run now.
It's possible that the intercom has been damaged somehow, and its just a coincidence that it occurred with your new helmets.

Franky, I'm beginning to think that all these fancy electronics are more trouble than they're worth. Nut that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Keep us posted on how you make out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Well, I did check the 'old headsets' and they work just fine. So, with the number of responses I got I guess nobody else is having this problem. We ride about 99.9% two up so some how or some way this has to be resolved. Tomorrow I'll call the dealership and also J&M and see if they have any input. My guess is that I will probably have to buy the Performance setup for the Nolan N103 helmet. It will be a step down but seems like a definite solution in the feedback issue. Our 30 day old Performance set up we have now will not work (install) in the Nolan N103 like it should. I'm guessing on all of this until I get input from J&M. This is aggravating but I believe there is a solution to this puzzling dilemma. Again, thanks for the input. I'll post outcome when this solved.

I don't know if this is the same thing you're talking about but I have had some "motor noise" in my J&M's. It has been intermitent but seems to correspond to motor rpm. My J&M's are the "Elite" and were ordered specifically for the RT-S. One of the cures on my Wing for intercom problems was to run another ground wire, taking special care that it was attached to bare frame. Don't know if this is what's needed or not, but I would be interested in what you come up with.

You should consider the Cardo Scala sets. Bluetooth wireless, great sound and connects to your phone/GPS.

We have the Teamset and love it. Got it on Ebay for $125.

I will never go back to wired systems.
