250 mile ride there and back to get my F3's second service!
Fitted the Toyo T1R tire and the magnificent CM009 rear shock made by The Shock Factory. It's supplied with a
nice "C" wrench (spanner) to facilitate quick adjustment. But when you place the order there is a detailed questionaire
About the rider weight and whether or not you are going to ride two-up. The chief tech. at the dealer (158 Performance)
compared it to a brand new Daytona F3 and he said it's in a different league. It is also less expensive that the OEM list price!
All of their shocks are the same price (£350 delivered) and come with a two year warranty.
The owner of the Shock Factory, Mike Capon phoned me yesterday to tell me that there had been a problem with
the debit card payment as his place is in France and my bank will only pay foreign companies with prior notice.
So I cleared the payment on my Mastercard and he airfreighted the shock to me and it was delivered to my dealer
at 12 midday....about 18 hours after the payment was made. Great service from him.
Now I suppose you'd all like to know the result of the new tire and shock. Well it's changed the "feel" of the F3
for the better. Very much more responsive steering and I am going to experiment with the pressure at the rear,
I think a lower pressure will work well....say 24 psi.
Needless to say after the ride home and a long 13 hour day I'm very tired ( pun intended!!) but I'll get some pics up
when I've recovered.
