• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

my '08 gs(pe#260) is going in soon to have the dps replaced. it has never been to a dealer since the day it was sold new. less than 4000 kms on it. is there a list of all recalls out there somewhere? or service bulletins? any suggestions on what i should have them check/adjust? i believe that this dealer is really new to spyders, the salesman didn't know anything about the dps recall, and they haven't done any yet. i'll be the first!
they quoted me $60 to supply a second key for it(only got one from previous owner) sounds a little high, but who knows? any advice appreciated.

:welcome: Look at the bottom of the home page and you will find all the service recalls etc.

When they hook it up the the BUDS system, it'll tell them what updates/recalls your Spyder will need. You can also call ahead to the dealer, supply them with your VIN, and they can tell you over the phone.

Brp recalled 16 thousand + DPS Units and the Salesman didn't know any thing about it?? Maybe you shouldn't be talking to that salesmen any more:dontknow:

I think $60 is a little low (if they program and cut the key on site for you). I remember hearing people here paying over $100 for an additional key.

I am kinda like you in the requards that I just recently bought a used 2008 SE5 GS with only 900 miles on it.. just had the DPS recall done on it.. (found out about the DPS recall reading this site) I got no knotice from BRP... I too only got one key with my Spyder and the Dealership in Beckly WV Swampfox Motorsports only charged me $35 to have another Key Made.. as a matter of fact the dealership in Lexington Ky Lexington Motor Sports quoted me a price of $35 bucks for a new key as well.. I think these other Dealers are scamming people.. One dealer that I talked with wanted $100 for a key.. and he said it would take an hour to program one for the spyder.. $35 for the Key and an hour $65 labor charge to program one.. which is a lie because it takes less than 3 mins to do it with the master key.. I watched the Dealer that made my second key do it..
as for all other things Spyder I recommend reading this site.. it has been the biggest and best source for information on the Spyder..

:agree: The Dealers should (and many DO) stop by to catch up on what's going on!
