• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Service manual?

Did the link work for the service manual buy?

I have a Spyder paper manual from the dealer already, so I can't speak of the Spyder manual here. :dontknow:

However I have purchased 3 other manuals from this site in the last week and they have all worked perfect. :2thumbs:

I would think the Spyder manual would be no different.

Well, I finally got the manuals, the reason for the 3 1/2 month wait was, it's a new manual, covers both SM5 and SE5. The supplement manual seems to be a training guide for service techs. Minor problem, while scanning the supplement, I noticed the spark plug gap is .310!!!! must have a heck of a coil set up to jump that spark over a quarter of an inch.

Oops. :opps: I forgot about it by the time I made it home that night. :opps: Sorry. Like the line in the song Mother's Little Helper, "What a drag it is getting old". :D

Eba electronic manual $9.99

It covers the 2008-2009 SM5 and SE5 with all of the service bulletins. It is over 450 pages so print it out at work :-P. Alot of great information on service and installation of optional equipment. They also have a website www.midwestmanuals.com

I just bought the one from Midwest Manuals (the www.freebrd.com/odd.html link) and ran out of paper printing it up. I've probably got about 200 - 300 of the 800+ pages printed right now and it looks okay except for the fact that some of the pages seem to be jumbled up in when viewing onscreen. Using Adobe, when clicking through some of the service bulletins, cursoring to the next page or scrolling to the next page brings up strange results. For example, if I select service bulletin 2008-1 and scroll to the bottom of the second page, it then jumps to the table of contents instead of going to service bulletin 2008-2. If I go to service bulletin 2008-2 and scroll to the bottom of the second page, it jumps to service bulletin 2008-7. :dontknow:

So far, in the 200 or so pages I have printed, all I have so far is some BRP news bulletins and installation instructions for probably all BRP accessories (Hindle, seat cowl, 1" riser, 12 volt outlet, billet license plate cover, etc.). I've got more paper on the way and will let you know how it turns out.

Update : I've gotten through most of the electrical section now (only about 100 more pages to go) but I ran out of paper again. I guess its off to the store for another pack of paper. So far, everything in the main portion of the manual seems to be in order.

Final Update : Finally completed printing and all looks good. Approximately $15 worth of paper and $10 worth of toner.

I have it and just finished printing the book, in excess of 800 pages, however, I am lucky I can duplex the print.

I tried to go thru the manual and found alot of differences but those differences only relate to service bulletions and installation of the accessiories which were not included in the first service manual.

The electical schemantics are a bit hard to read unless you print those separate and stick together, whereas the first manual had the fold out schemantics in a pocket in the back of the manual.

For $ 8.99 plus the ream of paper and ink, it is still an excellant buy, at least at the moment I think so.
