• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

service bulletin archive?

I thought that I had seen a service / warranty bulletin archive somewhere on this site but cannot find it. Is it lost or am I losing it? Specifically, I was after service bulletin 2012-7 regarding the updated 2008-2012 clutch kit. I can find references to it and some excerpts but could not find the complete bulletin. I have since received a copy of it from my dealer which I could post, if that's allowed.....

I don't see why not?! :dontknow: It could probably even be made a sticky!

well, if one of you fellows was to create a bulletin archive [I have no idea about anything like that...] , I'll try to add the bulletins I have.......

Just post them as attachments to a normal post and we can make it happen - but we need the bulletin/attachments to do anything :dontknow:

Over to you.

Good idea. I may be able to dig up some old ones. I will have a look.

Just something I have noticed. Often when TSBs have been posted in the past. The poster only posts the front page. I find the more interesting info may be one page 2 or 3, if they exist. So please post the complete TSB if you have it.

Yes it will be complete - incomplete info is worse than no info!

Ok here is my attempt - hope it works ok!

This is BRP's service bulletin 2012-7 regarding replacement clutch parts for 2008-2012 998 v-twins , both SM5 and SE5 models, last revised Feb 2013. Note that this IS NOT a recall or warranty situation - this kit is used when repairing your clutch, and gives you the parts needed to upgrade to the improved 2013 setup. The original clutch plates are no longer available, they are replaced by a kit consisting of additional plates with thicker steel plates and thinner friction plates, a different oil nozzle to supply more oil to cool the clutch, different spring washers for the SM and spring plate for the SE.

A 2013 shop manual has the correct info and pictures for this setup and the procedures would apply to all years.

The oil nozzle could easily be retrofitted to a unit with it’s original clutch setup, and the extra cooling may improve clutch life.

The PDF was too large to post, so uploaded to google drive ; https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aA_vX7vf3ixiyBhyz5ysxuGvqO8VXkib/view?usp=sharing
