• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have been very happy with my sena Bluetooth radios. I purchased them on 28 jan. 2013,and the batteries are dead. I contacted sena and they told me there was no replacement batteries available, after the 2 year warranty is up i'm out of luck. So fair warning, I won't buy any other sena products,

Have you looked at your user's guide? The two firmware versions I have, 5.0 and 5.1, both say the batteries are non-removable, non replaceable, and one version says they will wear out over time. I knew it when I bought it. YMMV.

I can tell you straight up you can replace them!!!!!
Take the unit apart and in there is a single cell LiPo battery. You can easily find a replacement from RC web sites.....

Trust me if your willing to do s little work.... You can!

To Bad you didn't get it from me

I don't know who you contacted at SENA but there is no reason the batteries should be dead that soon
some folds have had them for years and they still are fine and working, I have the SMH10-11 in mine
they are almost 4 years old and work great,
Did you register them when you got them?, Did you get them from an authorized dealer?
Try calling them in San Jose, CA..

All Batteries at some point go dead, Car batteries, boat batteries, phone batteries, flash light batteries,
TV Ears batteries, Cell Phone batteries, yes even SENA head set batteries, and all the other brands as well.
in this day and age everything uses batteries...

I missed that too, and also won't be paying that much for a throw away in the future.

we have put 30,000 miles on our spyder in the last 2 years, and the radio has been on the whole time. I would say that is way above normal usage. To expect you to spend 200 dollars and up every couple of years, when all you need is a battery is ridiculous.

Everyone knows that batteries go dead, but there are units out there that to get to the battery you destroy the thing. Appears that the OP got bad info. I have a Garmin 600 and there is no official way to replace the battery. Of course the unit is 10 years old and still works but you need it plugged into the car to work. Then some wizard comes along and creates a kit and instructions on how to do it. In the kit is the battery and little tools to do it.

The first iPhones had no replaceable battery.

Ran ran into that with our Garmin C550 and Zumo550. Garmin said non replaceable on the C550. Ok. I bought a replacement for the Zumo, opened the case, cut the wires and soldered a new battery in.

Can anyone share a pic of the new or old batteries?

Replaced the battery in my Garmin 775T the same way. Took it out, ran to a RC hobby store and got the LiPo Cells with the same MAH rating and replaced it!
