• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena20s sending me into orbit!!!

Not many years back I was able to fly the space shuttle into space as the shuttle commander with almost a perfect score at Space Camp for Educators in Huntsville, Alabama, however, these Sena 20s have me so frustrated I am ready to send them into space. It seems they will not communicate with each other and they were working OK about 3 days ago; I have made no changes. I have the set paired and I have turned off or removed any other Bluetooth items. I can press my jog wheel and speak to my wife's helmet but, she can't press hers and speak to mine. I have done the BIOS upgrade twice, reset to factory a thousand times and reset for a fault on both units. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas, suggestions or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Randy:D

According to Motorcycle Dave, who knows all things Sena, if you call 925-255-8936 you will get a live body on the phone, here in the U.S., rather than calling an 800 or 888 number, where you are likely to get a recording.

Found the problem...

Spent some more time playing and found a "short" in the microphone wire just as it goes into the cradle. Going to try to put a new mic on it.
Thanks for the help,
Randy;)

Have you updated the firmware and reset them to factory default settings? That usually resolves the "funny" issues.

I had a problem with our set on my wife's small helmet.
This seems to be a problem and small helmets.
If you notice the clamp that holds the base unit on your helmet, it has a curved area that is suppose to hold the MIC jack into the base unit so it cannot back off and become partially unplugged.
Well on small helmets that clamp was not getting close enough to hold the MIC jack in.

What I wound up doing is with a Xacto knife I trimmed and molding flashing (plastic rib) flush and then I put a piece of tooth pick between the clamp and the MIC jack body so the clamp was pressing the MIC jack in.

Relax, there is no need to go to the expense of space flight. Simply place the offending unit on the pavement in front of your Spyder and roll over it. I have contemplated throwing mine off on the highway but I think it might survive and come back to haunt me in the future.

If you were lucky enough to have purchased them from Cycle Gear a trip to their store is all you need to do. They will replace them for you. If not, then you are stuck dealing with Sena customer service. You will likely be required to return the system to them for replacement.

I was going to suggest dropping a concrete block on it ...
But riding over it: seems a lot more satisfying! :D
