• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pairing

Gary,

I know there are many gps's out there. But, do you know if the product you're selling can be paired with a garmin nuvi 765T (bluetooth). I have a scala Q2 and it recognizes the nuvi, but won't pair. Since my Q2 every now and then goes on the fritz, I may be interested.

This may help. Right now I use a sony DR-BT100CX to listen to the voice commands from my gps.

I don't think the G4 will pair with the 765T either. I got it to pair once and then not again. I called G4 tech support and they told me it would not work with the 765T. That was when the G4 first came out. May be different now.:dontknow:

Dan....

From reading their site, do you have any sense about whether the earplug adaptor plugs into the mp3 socket (which we can do on the back of the G4) or whether it was a separate socket just for earplugs leaving the mp3 still available?

I couldn't tell from anywhere on the site; thought, maybe, you found the info.

SMH-A0303 Helmet Clamp Kit - For Earbuds

Appears to just be a separate helmet mount with a plug for earbuds instead of wired speakers.

The MP3 jack appears to be in a different area and on all the different helmet clamps--- but perhaps Gary can clarify....

Can we use the Earbud clamp set and still plug in an MP3 ??

Can you get the ear-bud clamp and then get speakers with a plug so you can use either ear-buds (long trips) or speakers (short trips) ?

I didn't see that as an option-- but the helmet clamp with the ear-bud plug was only like $35 extra-- so owning 2 of them wouldn't be a major expense.

My idea is to have my full face with the speaker setup in them and then put the ear-bud clamp unit on my 1/2 helmet.

You could get a set of speakers and wire them to a plug yourself too that would plug into where the ear buds would.

Neither my Distributor nor I can think of a way to do this without using two different clamps, as Firefly suggests. But, my Distributor sent a message to his Sena engineering contact to determine if there is a way. I'll advise when I get a reply.

The optional clamps are $33.95 on my site, no tax, no shipping.

And I just got the new Scala Team Riders. Yeah, I know their not bluetooth compatible but I don't plan on talking on the phone will ryding anyway. And I don't use a GPS.

Dan...

I've looked at the Sena video on connecting a phone, a Zumo 550 and and a bluetooth mp3 player three or four times; you can see it here:

http://www.youtube.com/senabluetooth#p/u/3/1hKWfEYr5Wk

I have a couple of questions:

(1) I notice that when the narrator connects the bluetooth mp3 player, the iphone connection with the Zumo is broken. You can see the screen message saying this. The Zumo can only maintain two bluetooth connections apparently. The mp3 player DOES play once it is connected so I'm not sure what is happening when the Zumo announces the broken connection. I assume that it is the Iphone connection which is broken.

(2) If the mp3 has to connect thru the Zumo 550 (which is monaural) does that mean that the music from the mp3 is monaural as well?.

I am interested in the Sena primarily because of the helmet clamp for ear buds but am not convinced that the sound and bluetooth connections are what I want.

Ken, I think you're 100% right on pertaining to how the setup is working-- and if you connect the MP3 through the Zumo you will for sure lose stereo.

You might be able to use a stereo Bluetooth adapter from the audio output of the Zumo and connect the headset to that --- BUT -- then you have the concern of hooking up your mic--- can you still hook thru the zumo??

My usage would be entirely different--- what I'm considering doing is this:

Sena unit hooked via Bluetooth to Zumo.
Zumo linked to i-phone for calls.
Mix-It plugged in to Sena MP3 port (wired).
Radar detector/MP3/etc. plugged into Mix-It.

I don't see a way I can go 100% wireless..... unless I was able to use a Stereo Bluetooth adapter from the output of my Mix-It that links to the Sena--- AND the Sena can still link to the Zumo for Mic output.

Another option would be using a stereo Bluetooth receiver that would plug into the MP3 port on the Sena to get yet another Bluetooth input channel. I believe they make such a device..... hmmmmm

Gotta think this all through.
