There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Sena SM10 Bluetooth - What am I doing wrong?

I purchased a pair of Sena SMH10D-10 headsets, the Sena SM10-01 Dual Stream Bluetooth Stereo Transmitter (with the 2.0.2 upgrade), and a Sena 3.5mm Stereo Jack to 7 pin DIN cable (SC-A0123) for the Spyder. I can pair my phone to my helmet, my wife's phone to her helmet, helmets to each other and the GPS to both helmets. I can feed also my IPOD into the SM10. What I cannot accomplish is to get the Spyder's radio to play through the SM10.

Also I have installed the microphone caps but still seem to get a lot of wind noise through the microphones. My wife and I have the HJC IS-33 helmets and we have tried several mic positions (with visors down) including moving the mic as high as possible to keep it out of the wind. Any suggestions?

I am not sure about your radio problem other than going into the menu on the bike and seeing if you can turn it in there. As far as the wind noise, I would try turning off the voice activation on the headsets.

You have to have the BRP cable to connect the SM10 to the radio, not the DIN plug on the dash. It is only available as part of the bluetooth module option kit. Or there are plans here on SL to build your own.

The Sena cable for Spyders is designed to plug in the socket for a wired helmet. Very few Spyders have that feature. If you plug the cable into the Ipod socket in the trunk, that will not work. There are only audio inputs to the radio on that socket, no outputs.

The above explains pretty much what you need and how it works.

Then to make your own cable, see this post here:

My video shows a hard way to make a connector as at that time we did not know how to order the connector. Look at post #30 in the above DIY thread and shelbydave gives the part number for the proper connector. Worst case if you not comfortable making the cable, PM me I will make you one for no charge. I have done about 10 of them now for people.
That cable is IF you do not have the entertainment harness e.g. you do not have XM or CB radio. I do not yet know how to make the BT cable that connects to the entertainment harness. Hopefully I will have that tackled soon though.

To hear the radio...

What I cannot accomplish is to get the Spyder's radio to play through the SM10.

The only way to hear the radio through the SMH10 is to have the BRP blue toothe dongle, or a homemade one, installed. That's what allows you to hear the radio.

Hello Bob,
I purchased an SM10 and was wondering if you are still making up cables...I don't want two cables just the one that is left, right and, signal...I can use the cigarette lighter in rear trunk... I understand that the 1st row: Left channel is 4 Right channel is 5 2nd row: 4 is signal common. I have an RTS 2016. Martina (marty)

if you bought your sm10 thru motorcycledave it comes with the cable you need,or you can order the cable only thru him.

Give This You Tube video a try

Hello I was reading your thread tonight about your Sena Issues. I ride a 2014 RT limited with a The Bluetooth Dongle installed, had issues when I first had it installed (by dealer), dealers tech whiz left, the dealer gave a Name of a Spyder Owner in our town with the dongle installed on there 2012 RT, hooked up with them we tried and we could not get my system to work after 2 hrs, I left went home frustrated. I got online went to You Tube entered in search area (How To Pair with Sena Headsets 2014) pt. 2 came up The author was DRBLUETOOTH 2013, I watched the video a few times then took my laptop out to my RT followed the presenters direction within ten minutes I had both of our Bell Mag 9 helmets playing through our Spyders system Watch the Video and it may help you get connected as I am not a computer whiz I was shocked how easy this was Give it a try. there are numerous how to videos on this subject Thank You

P.S. Waiting for our Wisconsin winter to end and get riding. This is our second Spyder had a 2010 with CB installed just so we could get music into our Helmets, the dongle system is by far a better system (No Cords) just keep it charged and turn off between rides. Loving our Spyders starting this year with 52000 combined between the 2010 and the 2014, Our Dealer Is Donahue Super Sports in Wi. Rapids WI. (Great Dealer They keep our Spyders rolling) Thank You good riding to all

I'll have to disagree with this, Doc Riverside can also provide this cable, if you search for his threads on here you can get his contact information.

Hi, it would be nice if someone could give me a link to either one, motorcycle Dave(does he have a website or is he selling from home?

Not sure why your Sena would have to link to your spyder radio. Sena can pick up local radio stations as part of Sena capabilities. Must be missing something.

I just purchased the Sena 10r low profile unit. So far have only sync to Cell phone and can pick up radio stations. I usually ride alone so have not paired with another rider yet.
