• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena- intercom's

I am getting ready to install a Sena system into our helmets---which side do most people like to attach them to. Installing in 3/4 helmets with face shields.

We have ours on the left. If you put it on the right you will have to let go of the throttle to push
the buttons.

:agree: I think the instructions explain that, plus the design of the Sena Bluetooth is made to go on the left for that reason. :welcome:

Thanks for the information

Thanks for all the insight----I hadn't even thought about right hand/throttle thing before, all I was focusing on was my left ear isn't as great as my right ear for hearing but this all makes sense!

Since you have speakers for both ears that won't be much of a problem

:agree: The key is to get the speaker for each side positioned directly over the ear canal so the sound is crisp. Also be sure to mount far enough forward on the left so you can put the mic high enough behind the face shield to minimize wind noise. There is a plastic cover to put over the mic that helps a lot with that issue anyway but still good to have the ability to put under your nose. You will love them!

Left side for me too. Love the Sena setup. I have tried all Cardo's and the Sena is hands down the best of them.

I did some research over the weekend and have decided that Sena will be my next purchase for communicators. Maybe I will get lucky and find them on sale between now and April. Currently $285 for a set from a couple different places.

You can get the SMH5 for under a hundred each. I've got 2, they work great, clear sound and excellent battery life.

Also, I've got one mounted on left and one on right, as I am right handed and can manipulate the controls better, I like the right side one better. I simply tap the cruise control (if it's not already on) before working it.

sena

Glad to see most like the Sena, we just picked one up at the Harley shop with chrome points. We have it through the Garmin also. Works great don't like to be on the phone and ride but want to know when mom calls if she is OK. With the Sena I can see incoming calls on my gps and dicide if we want to pull over and answer it. Plan on getting another set-up and put in the full face helmet for the FZ1. Should be much better than flashing lites when some one needs to stop. Can't wait for the snow to clear and try them out.
