• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

INTRODUCTION
============
These release notes describe changes made since the firmware V4.0 release.

CHANGES
=======
- Configuration to enable high quality A2DP and handsfree microphone boosting
- Minor bug fixes and performance improvements in audio management and intercom function

This is a minor upgrade to enhance the existing functions. There's no update in the manual; however, you may realize the audio volume management and audio quality become a little better, and you have a couple of options such as high quality audio and microphone boosting. Please read the tips in [DEVICE SETTING] menu in SMH10 Manager v1.4 for further details in these options. Enjoy riding with Sena!!!!!

Yes, they are pricey, but we shopped around and found ours on sale.

They have been worth it for me. It gives me a peace of mind to be able to communicate with my hubby. We gave them a workout on our 2 week vacation and another of our group got the sph10 set to wear with his half helmet. The conference call worked like it was advertised. He led the ride and my hubby rode drag so if anyone in the middle had problems, we could tell the lead guy and he could get everyone stopped.

On the trip, I had a breathing attack and had to make an emergency pull off. I was able to warn my hubby that I had to pull off and he was able to get stopped in time and pull in behind me.

I don't ride without them now.

just wish they were'nt so darned expensive.

I wish the firmware was easier to load. 3.2 to 4.0 was a battle and 4.0 to 4.1 a total failure. :banghead:
The one I tried wouldn't even power on and I had to figure out how to reset the darned thing. Haven't made an attempt since the first two tries. Tried on both Mac and Windows and both were a no-go. Loading firmware can break things pretty good, so I say, if the thing is working, leave it and definitely don't try it before you have a ride planned.

Geri and I really enjoy our SMH10's. They work well, although sometimes when first powered on it takes a while before we can hear each other. I've done each update as it became available, on both PC and a Mac, without any problem. Usually have to download their updated program to handle it. Anyway, we just added the SM10 which is basically a Bluetooth dongle with 2 inputs. One is stereo and the other is not (I think) and has priority if active. The second input will be used for our GPS, the first for music whether from an iPod or the on-board radio.

Sorry you had so much trouble. Since we've had our headset, I've gone through both of these updates. Went smooth and done in about 2 minutes. Also our friend doesn't have internet so he brought his set up. Since his was a different model, I had to download the SPH10 manager, but it also updated without a hitch.

Have you contacted support? When I first got our headset, we were not getting sound out of one ear piece. I talked to them on the phone and they were great and got our problem solved.

Good luck with your set.

Thats was my logical next step. I'm sure there's an easy fix. There usually is with these things. You still run the chance of bad things happening with any firmware updates. Caution is always recommended. :-)
