• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena 20S Question

Just got a set of Sena20S headsets. Trying to get used to them before actually riding with them. The built in FM radio is what attracted me to them over the 10's. Trying to listen to the FM radios on each unit then use the intercom and the intercom doesn't cancel out the radio of dim it down either? If I shut off the radios the intercom works. If this is normal, I DON'T want them!! Any help would be appreciated... I was on hold on the Sena help line this afternoon and never did get on.:banghead:

Did you call this number???? use the (408) number it is local in San Jose CA.
They can help, or maybe take them to the dealer you got them from and see if they can help.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will try to get Sena help when they open this time, I will be in Missouri to the dealer next week too.

You might trying doing a factory reset which should put them back in the mode where audio overlay (?) is on. That should make the music volume lower when you are on the intercom. You will have to pair again to your phones after you do this.

If you have an iPhone or Android phone you can download the Sena app and control many of the "features" and option from your phone.
There is also computer apps for the same PLUS updating firmware.
Make sure you have the latest firmware, set up your options.
If you still have a problem, contact Sena.

Just got through to the Sena help line this morning. Found out that to get the radio to play AND the intercom to work you need to activate the intercom FIRST by "Pushing" the jog dial instead of "Tapping" it AS THE BOOK SAYS!! THEN activate the FM radio, then you can talk and it will come in on top of the radio. Got that to work.

One last point of confusion to me though is... the FM does not dim down like advertised when an intercom call comes in... there is a voice sensitivity setting from 1-10 with a factory setting at 6 when you get them. It is my understanding that this sensitivity setting would set how loud my voice would have to be to break in? I changed it down to the 3 setting and up to the 8 setting and couldn't tell the difference and the FM volume didn't change with either of these settings. Still unsure on that...would be nice to have the FM volume dim down when you talk on intercom!! May take another call to Sena unless someone here has a better idea.

Option
Setup GROUP Intercom
Activate it then turn on FM
However, both work fine here in "dimming" music, you may need to reset headsets - ESPECIALLY if you upgraded firmware.

I did the "Factory Reset" on completion of the 1.5 firmware upgrade. Do you mean the "Falut Reset" with the pin-hole?

Thanks much AJ....
I went ahead and did the factory reset again even though I did it when I upgraded to V1.5
It seems to "Dim Down" now like it should!!
I will hook my headset up to computer to see how the settings match up to yours too when I get time.
Thanks again... I really appreciate all the support I am getting here from experienced Spyder Lovers for a Spyder newby!!!:yes:
