• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Semi Automatic

I now have 2,000 miles on my new RTS with the semi automatic. I have noticed on several occasions that it did not downshift on its own. This happened today when I was coming to a stop from 5th gear and then went to change lanes very quickly to go around someone and it bogged down, reason being it was still in 4th gear and obviously only down shifted one gear. I was almost stopped when this happened and of course it was not real peppy as I hit the throttle to change lanes when it was in 4th gear and had only downshifted one gear.

Just wondering if this is common every once in a while as hit has only happened maybe 5 times in 2,000 miles.

Happened to me twice. Both times I hadn't released my throttle completely. Don't know if this was the cause but I've been more careful and it hasn't happened again.

If you need to downshift multiple gears quickly, you should use the button. This isn't like a full automatic transmission, that has a kickdown mechanism.

When in haste or in a near panic situation never rely on the automatic stuff to happen.... shift it yourself!

NOTE:::NOTE!! My RT uses oil, and when the bike is 1/2Q low, (1) it shifts hard when cold, and (2) sometimes doesn't downshift automatically. Adding oil to the proper level fixes that.

There was a thread a while ago about someone trying to adapt the K12 style sight gauge - I think it's a necessity on the Spyder.
