We had a really good ride yesterday with only a few incidents. We left the house at 6:30am and headed to Flap Jacks for some fine eats and to meet up with Don and Pearl. After eating we headed out on the bypass around Poplar Bluff (that does sound funny that we have a bypass). Then on to twisty curvy Ozark country roads. We stopped at a one horse town in Bixby Mo to gas up at the Bixby Country Store and I swear I looked at the sign on the pump but it didn't register. So there I was filling the tank and I looked at the amount on the pump and turned back and gas was coming out of the tank! I stopped pumping and put the cap on, backed the bike up from the puddle of gas and got some napkins from the store and cleaned up the Spyder. Some gas was dripping still so we went and looked at the red caboose for a bit the watched the humming birds for a bit then fired it up (pun intended) and headed for Cuba, MO to see if we could find some Spyder Friends. We got there at about 10am but no one was around :dontknow:. There were a couple of vendors so we wandered over to Gene from Misty Mountain Sheepskins and he thought they might be on a ride. So we looked around and chatted with Gene for a bit while he put a sheepskin on Don's Goldwing.
After that we headed up 19 to Swiss Meat Company which is the best place in Missouri to get brats and other smoked meat. We filled up two coolers and stuffed them in the frunk. You never get within 50 miles of Swiss Mo without a cooler...
Then we headed back to Cuba to eat lunch at
Missouri Hick BBQ located on Route 66. That was some of the best BBQ I've eaten in a while.

After lunch we headed back to the Bluff via a different road and had a really good ride. We were on the road for 12 hours, in the saddle for 8 hours and covered 400 miles at about 50 miles an hour... so we were not slacking much on the twisty Ozark country roads.
Today is a rest day.
