• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Second Throttlebody Replacement

I previously posted on my first throttlebody replacement after Spyderfest in Cuba. With the new throttlebody, all of the problems went away and the RT ran perfectly until it didn't.

Last week, Monday, The RT went into Limp Mode at start-up. It was okay after a reboot. I thought this was an anomaly due to some communications malfunction. When I left for Maggie Valley on Tuesday, it failed twice at initial start-up, and once later in the day. From then on, it was down hill. The problem became increasingly worse. By Friday, it had nine failures.

At Maggie Valley, Kurt Otteson (BRP tech guru) put the BUDS on the RT and discovered it needed another new throttlebody, The throttlebody was replaced in the service tent on Friday afternoon. Once again, the RT is running perfectly.

I love my 2011 RT, but I am a little uncomfortable with this experience. I have had more trouble with the engine on the RT in 13,000 miles than I have had in 100,000 miles on my 2009 GS. I had no trouble at all with the engine on my 2008 GS in 36,500 miles.

I am hoping this will be the end of it.
