• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat

Just bought a sheepskin butt pad for my spydie. It's terrific...and definitely a lot easier on the wallet than a custom seat...not to mention the butt. I can't justify spending $1200-$1500 on a seat...In my eyes it's one of the accessories you'll never recoup even a portion of your investment back.
 
This is as personal a decision as what underwear you prefer. My advice is to go to a few Spyder events, if you can, or find some other local owners, and try a couple of the different seat options. What is great for the one sometimes literally hurts another.

Spyder events??? Around here, two Spyder ryders waving at each other is as much of a Spyder event as I can find!
 
The only reason I like my Corbin is because of the good deal I got on it buying it used. To me though the 2 seats seem to slope forward too much causing the passenger and rider to slide forward when stopping. The driver backrest helps with stopping the passenger from pushing me even more forward.

I'm really tempted to see if I can find someone to grind the seat out some to lower the slope on them.

Agreed 100 PERCENT on the whole back seat ordeal.. And to add to it there is not that much room between the backrest.. But I do feel ya on the SLOPING of the rear seat..

Great advice,, I have the Corbin and to me it's too hard but others just LOVE this seat... I have about 2,000 miles on it so its broke in but again just for me its a bit hard... GREAT advice from NancyToy I'd take it..

The new Corbin' arrived yesterday. I haven't ridden on it yet but after sitting on it I can tell it is a bit hard. The contour of it is "concave" which means you sit "in" it instead of "on" it like the factory seat. If you're into touring I think it is good. If you are a very aggressive rider and like to "hang dog" with your butt off of the side while going like mad in the corners I think the factory seat is perfect. Also, when I ordered it I was hoping we'd have it in a week or so but I found out it had to be manufactured and would take a "long" time. I called Corbin to cancel the order and they said they could speed it up to about 3 weeks production. Took about 4 weeks and got it yesterday. The craftsmanship is superb with 2 flaws.1-it has a small area on the the front right leading edge of the leather where it was scuffed pretty severely :gaah: during production. 2-needed to adjust the pin to get it to latch closed. Conclusion: if you need a backrest then this seat is nicer than going with the factory setup. Not much more$.If you're an aggressive rider it's not worth the money.
 
I have the Corbin seat, and I love it. My hubby has the BRP comfort seat, which is also nice. In my opinion I like the Corbin better, but as a pillion, the comfort seat is really nice... maybe better than the Corbin.

As some have said, the padding on the Corbin needs to be re-done as it does slope forward and you find yourself sliding down. I have the heated seat and I wouldn't have it any other way.
