• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a 2012 rt-s. I have a utopia backrest the shock would hold seat and backrest just fine until I put the full size sheepskin on. Now it will not stay up with out using a small pair of vise grips and a rag so as not to mess shaft up. Any ideals, also I read about stoping the heat comeing up between glove box and seat. Now last Corbin vs Ultimate seat with back rest and fuel door. Ultimate show's there prices but not Corbin wonder why. Thanks for your replys Grayfox

I had the same thing on my 2010Rt when I added a driver backrest and sheep skin. My seat has a spot on the drivers side that looks like it could be for another Lift arm. I took a piece of pvc pipe attached it so it swings down and props up for filling gas, airing shocks etc.
If you want a picture, pm me and I will see what I can do. Include your email, as don't see a way to return the pm with a picture.

Stronger Lifts, or carry a wooden dowel cut to the right size to hold it up, or
take off the sheep skin

2011 RT, Ultimate, backrest, sheepskin. Bob hit the nail on the head, again. Strong Arm 4418 did the trick for me. Got mine at Advance Auto Parts.

Little checking..!!

some of the custom seats have a drop down arm tucked in the side..if yours dosen't then follow advise above..

When I remove the gas cap, I just stuff it way up under the seat. Then after filling up, I put it back on the gas tank. So far nothing has exploded.

Or... Take your seat strut to an auto parts store, and match it up with what they've got...
Did this exact thing a few weeks back. Pulled it off and brought it into Oriels and found a strut with same length and can hold more weight. Sorry i dont recall what the part number is.

Advance Auto's has one (mentioned in an earlier post in here...)
Strong Arm D4418...

I do have the replacement gas strut but have not put them on my website. Be careful when you replace the strut bought at a auto store. They may look and measure out the same but the force that is require to compress the gas shock comes in many different lbs. force. The plastic pan of the seat that the gas shock mounts on is not all that strong. The rating on the OEM strut is 18 lbs. Ideally the spring force you might look for is around 30 to 35 lbs. Always push the seat closed on the same side that the strut is on. This will help in not damaging the mounting tab on the seat. Bob
