• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat Question

Did '13 RT Limiteds come with the comfort seat? How do I tell if a comfort seat is installed?

Did you look at the label underneath the seat? That might be the best way to tell. The other is to compare the measurement of the seat to someone else's known seat. The comfort seat puts the driver back 2" more than the stock seat.

If the seat looks like the one on the left below it's a stock seat. If it looks like the one on the right it's a Comfort Seat.

I have the stock seat. Thanks for the pictures! The stock seat is comfortable, but having two more inches back would be nice, I'm 6'2". I wish the comfort seat came in brown like my stock seat.

The Comfort seat was probably available in
briwn in 2013. The seats that Jay pictured are from a 2014 or newer RT. The backrest hole was not on the 13s.

Yes, the Comfort Seat is good for all years with the exception Ann pointed out about the driver backrest hole. From the BRP parts list for the '13 RT-Ltd the part number for the stock seat is 708001220. It might be worth a call to BRP or a message to [email protected] to inquire if a brown Comfort Seat is available. The current catalog lists only one Henry Ford model, black. I am very satisfied with mine and it was a lot less expensive than a Corbin or an Ultimate. I gambled on the Comfort Seat being the best one for me for the price and hit the bulls-eye.

The website doesn't specify year, so is the Comfort seat good for all years?

Yes all RT seats fit any year. If you do get the Comfort Seat from a 14 or newer just know that the backrest is a different part number for the Comfort than it is on the stock seat.

Look on EBay you may find a good deal on one from a dealer.

Having ridden only on the original seat, is the Comfort seat a big improvement from the 2010 version? Prices seem good for one in black. And the rear backrest doesn't need to be swapped, correct? Thanks.

Something I just thought of...my wife will lose space in seat. Anyone have experience with the rider getting cramped?

Had my wife sit on the back. Looks like 2" will get a little cramp, especially if I get a backrest. Thanks for all help.

Look back at the pictures I posted. See how the Comfort Seat area behind where the driver's backrest is truncated as opposed to the stock seat. I don't know because I've never seen a stock '13 seat or a '13 Comfort seat that has no backrest hole in it. My wife, who is neither circumfrentially challenged nor an extremely experienced pillion rider has never expressed any sense of being cramped by the 2" setback of the Comfort Seat. I do not use a backrest.

Three years ago at Spyderfest I let a retired CA Highway Patrol officer and his wife test sit my Comfort Seat. Her immediate comment, "You gotta get one of these."
