• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat Question , ordering

We are about to order our F 3 T . The only options at first will be the passenger back rest and the Cannonball seat , what happens to the stock seat or the value of it ? So if we order it would we also get the stock seat or a mark off of its value from the price of the bike ? :chat:

The sales person should inform you properly when you order:lecturef_smilie: Hope they do you right as you are ordering it option preconfigured. So you "should not get charged extra for labor:gaah:"
each dealer is different & may try to slide extra in there. Best of luck:thumbup:

If you are paying full add-on rrp for the seat, you should get to keep the stock seat. My husband bought his f3 new with footboard option - and was given the take-off foot pegs.

It would be different if the extra dollars weren't added on in full for each option.

When I bought my F3-S, I also added the Cannonball seat straight from the dealership. They gave me the stock seat. I would make sure you get the stock seat from them, you have paid for it in the price of the new spyder. Whether or not you get money off the new Cannonball seat, in my opinion, is irrelevant to you receiving the stock seat.

P.S. - I'm sure you are already aware... make sure you get the stock driver and passenger seat. The Cannonball seat upgrade replaces both.

Personally, I would not buy the Cannonball seat. MUCH better options out there for that kind of money.

Demo had the cannon ball seat, was not impressed with it after the ride. Stock seemed the same. I would not add anything to your new ride until you drive if for awhile and then decide.

I have always given my stock seat the "thousand mile test" before going for any upgrade. Your probably safe though, I have replaced five out of five OEM seats.

Get the old seat from the dealer to save for later. When you sell or trade the bike, put the original, seat back on and sell the Cannonball on the aftermarket. That way you may get some of your investment back.

I agree... If I had to do it over again, I probably would not opt for the Cannonball seat either.

I went back to the stock seat as I found it just fit me better than the cannon ball seat. Now I have a like new seat in the box and about 900.00 less in my pocket.

Thanks !!

Thanks for the thoughts my friends which got me to rethinking the Cannonball seat . I have had Corbin seats on three different bikes over the years ; V-Max , ST 1300 , and a Vulcan Meanstreak . All have had a butt comfort level so much better than stock seats . I don't know what it is but I have never been able to ride a stock bike seat past 100 miles without some serious monkey butt . The Corbin seat are much harder but over time your butt will thank you for it. Another plus is the combos of leathers and designs available at no charge . 820.00 for the Cannonball or 699.00 for the custom look Corbin . :read: :2thumbs:

Corbins were my first choice--I had one on the 2008 and one on the 2010. Now I use BRP Comfort seats.

Tomorrow the Red Pearl

Tomorrow my lady and I will be taking delivery of our new :spyder2: F 3 T , THE Red Pearl . Went to dealer yesterday to put order down and there she sat in the showroom . Only F 3 T red available in the area ( Reno ) ......meant to be :2thumbs: Smiles to come and I know pictures will soon follow . Thanks to all for the info I've picked up from this great site

Congrats. I have the same one and love it. Get the floorboards (front and back), they make a huge difference. Also, look at Lamonster Garage's foglights . I installed them myself with little mechanical ability. And for $220, compared to $510 for the BRPs, you can't go wrong.
