• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Since day one it has been a challenge to pop the seat to put gas in. Lately there have been times when I haven't been able to get it open at all because it feels like if I turn the key any further it will break. We have adjusted the bolt, oiled the spring and it just gets worse. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they have done. :helpsmilie:

I just went through the process of adjusting the stud assembly on the bottom of the seat. Installing a comfort seat means having to remove and then reinstall and adjust the stud assembly on the new seat. You might have a weak latch spring but if not....
To get the latch to work, I had to lengthen the stud assembly considerably and move it back so that there was about 1/8-3/16" of the mounting slot showing in front of the washer. I could tell the stud assembly was adjusted too short since it took a lot of force at the key and I had to hold the seat down to allow movement of the latch. Early on in this process, I thought I was going to snap the key off. You have to be careful since loosening the nuts on the stud allows it to slide back and forth, changing the adjustment. I hand tightened the nuts on the stud and carefully latched the seat until I got it just right. I marked the position and then tightened the nuts, making sure the stud assembly did not slide back or forth.
As a reference, the length of the stud bolt showing is about 1-13/16" on my seat (but it's a comfort seat so that might not be the same as stock seat). But I can tell you that backing out the stud considerably and then retightening at small intervals as you check adjustment is the best way to do this. It took a long time to do this but it now works better than new and I don't have to press down on the seat to unlatch it any more. I hope this helps.
