seat latch problem

I have a 2019 Rt Limited. When I try to lift the seat for refueling, I have to grab the right side of the seat and pull up sharply to get the seat to unlatch. Is there an adjustment I can make to make the seat release smoothly?

Yes you can adjust the pin under the seat a little to line up with the latch. Make sure your seat is in place and tight (not lose in the back). you should be able to loosen the pin under your seat just a little and bring your seat down so you can see how it lines up with the latch. Pin and latch is on the right side. once you have it lined up by sight tighten the pin back up and try it. when you turn the key it should popup if your seat shock is good.

At least on my 2014 RT there is an adjustable bolt under the seat. But 2 things:

1. Lube the release mechanism.
2. Add a safety release for/if the key procedure fails.
Is the gas strut strong enough to lift the seat???? If not -- there are replacements.

:agree:X2! Matter of fact, when I took possession of my Spyder with Comfort Seat there was a bit too much slack in the adjustment of the seat lug, the fixture that latches to the Spyder frame, and I had to adjust it.

I have found occasionally lubricating latches, release mechanisms, locks, ignition switch and so on with a 3-in-one product called Lock Dry Lube. I buy mine at Walmart, in a 2 1/2 oz spray can about 5" high. It really works well, I hope this will help you.

After seeing many posts about this, I attached a fine cable to the seat and frunk latches and never use the key.

On my 2014 I had problems with the seat latch in 2015 so I removed the pin and have had no issues in 5 years.

Maybe this will never happen to you - the seat sliding forward and the front seat " wings " coming in contact with the plastic at the rear of the Glove area. .... But as a Vendor I have seen this occur ..... it will remove a bit of paint if it occurs ..... The Seat pin is what keeps the seat from moving IF the rear Seat bolts/nuts get loose. It's fairly easy to add a cable to both the frunk and the seat latch, and using these instead of the ignition switch. ... This will prevent the failure of the OEM system ie. ignition switch cables, from breaking or falling off ( it has happened as posted here many times )...... good luck .... Mike :thumbup:

I only use my pull cords. More convenient, easier and why risk a mechanism that's inconvenient to replace?
