Seat Help

Every one is being so helpful thought I would ask for help picking a new seat. We would like one with a detachable passenger backrest. The only seats we see are Corbin or this new ultimate seat. Does any one have any other options?

There are only custom seats aside from those two. I suggest you try the Ultimate, they should still have their 14 day trial and if you are near Ormond Beach (Daytona) then take a ride and check them out, you'll probably leave with a seat.

Remember, with a custom or the Corbin you own it the moment you write the check so if you don't like it you're stuck. That's not the way Ultimate works. The main difference with Ultimate is you need to give them your stock seat so they can recycle the pan or you can pay an extra $150 and keep yours.

Kontour Seat

I have about 500 miles on my Kontour seat plus Utopia backrest and am impressed. Lots of air flow and fanny comfort. I have never seen a Kontour seat up for resale, so there must be a reason.

I like Corbin's and the removable backrests. Had them on two of three Spyders--almost 40,000 miles on my Corbin seats.

I have had both Corbin and Ultimate. Both are good. I just met someone at Spyderfest who can't say enough about their Russel Daylong seat, they absolutely love it. This is really a personal preference depending on your height, weight, etc. I am finding it can be very costly as well if it is not cut right for you.
