• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat gas strut

On my 2015 RTL I added a factory drivers backrest. The gas strut will not hold up the seat and backrest when I get fuel. I want to replace the strut with a stronger one but can't find the rating of the factory strut. Does anyone know what pound rating the factory strut is?

If you take your strut to a well-stocked auto parts store; it should be easy to match it up to one with a bit more "oomph" to it.
There have been several threads in here that list part numbers for acceptable replacements. Take a walk on the "wild side", with the Search button... :D

Used the search button as I always do and most of the threads were about stock replacements, didn't find a single one listing the pound rating as I asked.
You must have a super button and ex ray eyes if you found it.

This post made me very happy. I am on my second failure gas shock. BRP heated Comfort seat, BRP backrest and full fitted Sheepskin cover seem to be too much weight for the OEM shock. On my way to Auto parts store.

Thanks for posting.
