• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat Envy...

:agree: A seat is a seat--why can't we get the one we want? If you want the upline, you should be able to pay price X and get it. I do see where this may cause problems when they "build" the bike. With all kinds of possibilities available--they would end up with some :spyder2:'s with the wrong parts. Probably why they don't have a custom build program like some brands. :dontknow:
:agree: Same with paint colors and wheel colors. I do not like black rims personally but on the build it site it would cost me to get gray ones slapped on a RTS $649.

I can actually see the logic behind offering the base models in either black or white; MARKETING
The salesman will say, "For only X more dollars; you can have your choice of these beautiful and vibrant color schemes!" :gaah:

I agree Bob. I've got a White Limited on order and would definitely appreciate having a choice of seat colors.

You know what made me think of this? The Ultimate seats with the two-tone option...
Imagine your new bike with a Black/White two-tone seat...

It all boils down to choices, choices, choices.

I don't believe I have bought ANY vehicle where everything was as perfect as I wanted it to be. There was always something I "had to live with".

RE: the 2014 RT-S. I am not sure I am going to like the floorboard configuration. I usually go for a seat with more support than the OEM--but the jury is out until I have 1000 miles or so. I am not excited about the "frunkgate" issue. I am still wondering if an upline BRP seat needs another backrest from the backrest that can be ordered with the OEM seat. I want a different color than previous so am locked into Yellow or Cognac on the machines I am interested in. I really do like the two tone seat for the RT-S. I guess one out of four is good. My plan is to not add anything, drive it a thousand miles or so, and make further decisions. The worst that could happen is there will be a new 2014 for sale with only 1000 miles for about $8K or so. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I tend to be fussy, and tinker around with what I've bought until I've got it right.
The new seats are VERY comfortable... So much, in fact, that I really don't want ot have to make a change... If only the color was right! :gaah:
That's what has prompted this little fit of mine...

I saw a white LTD with the 2 tone ultimate the white upper done in alligator at the dealer one day. Sweet:thumbup:

You might just be on to something; Dave!
My reasoning for this little "gripe"
One would think that BRP's "Limited" model is the flagship of the lineup.
If you discount the GPS; it's really been de-contented to not much more than an appearance package now:
Limiteds are Chrome
RTS is Black

That's about it... :dontknow:

Bob, the Limited has always been just an appearance package with some added personal property (GPS and luggage). The two tone seat is clearly sportier than the Limited seat and therefore the sportier people will be riding the RTS. :roflblack:

All colors are available from Corbin. I like my Corbin seat. I had them do mine in black and white to match my RT but it came out looking like a skunk so I spent a few more hours at Corbin while they switched it to all black. My buddies still tease me about the Skunk Seat

Well I'm sporty...
That is; I like to WATCH sports on TV! :D

2014 Seat Color

A seat is just one of the many focal points of a Spyder IMO. But my mind fails to keep up with the big deal over Black only on the RTL. How many of the 2014 models that will be sold this year will have the OEM seat on them by the end of the model year? 10%' 40%, 78%?

Dave has the right idea send it to him for a custom cover job them you can have the odd bike in the parking lot! Good idea, Dave the SBM with the best idea wins, right?ll

Come on Bob....just use your imagination! When I've been down to Daytona Beach for Bike Week (which in my case generally lasts for 3 weeks!)
I've found numerous leather and upholstery firms just dying to take my money in exchange for some seriously lovely custom work.
I'm pretty sure that even in NY State there are similar folks who could transform your seat into something a bit special! :D

I think that Bob's point is he is paying extra for the Limited and he feels that it should have the only the best items on it. Unfortunately for Bob the two tone seat is on the RTS.

because

As they told Lisa Simpson when she inquired to the gods why they kept humans addicted to Ipods, 'because we can!":yikes::roflblack::banghead:
