• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat coming undone.

I've had it happen twice. First time I went to my original dealer in the area and he said he couldn't do anything about it. That sounded wrong, so I went to another dealer and they replaced it right away...says some seats have that problem. (I fired the first dealer partially because of that). It's also happening on my second seat, and my dealer will replace it, but I'm thinking of getting an Ultimate seat and holding off.

If you have a decent dealer they should replace it no questions asked.

Just noticed you're from Tampa. Don't know the good dealers in your area, but on this coast it's Central Florida Powersports in Kissimmee and Daytona Fun Machines in Daytona Beach.

Phil I would get the seat replaced again anyway. What if you want to sell your Spyder but want to keep the Ultimate seat for your next Spyder.

Anyone had a problem with the Comfort Seat sold by BRP? They look to be a nice upgrade without the total $$$ of Corbin, etc. Stock may be good, but I have replaced stock seats on H/Ds and BMWs. The only stock seat I was happy with was the Gold Wing. Comments appreciated.

The seat issue has come up a few times and the fix should be a warranty fix.

RE: the comfort seat. Have had one with over 20,000 miles on it--no problems with it. Just purchased a second one for akspyderlady's 2011 RT--no miles on that seat yet.

My other experience with Corbins--2 different Corbin seats on 2 different spyders--23,000 on one seat and 28,000 on the other--no problems with either of those seats.

I had the problem shown below with my RT Ltd seat in the 1st 6 months. My dealer was going to order a warranty replacement from BRP. This was going to leave me with having to re-install the Utopia backrest in a new seat.

I happened to stop by a local boat upholstery shop and they did several re-padding mods to my stock seat for $125, and also re-sewed the seam that was failing. The mods included removing (and re-positioning) some original padding and replacing with softer foam as well as adding soft padding inside the Utopia backrest.
The project turned out nicely and took only a couple of days.

I've a similar stitch pop exactly like that just recently and I've only had the bike about 4 months now.

Had it at the dealer this past Thursday while picking up my trailer plate and had them take a picture of it. Waiting to hear back on what their going to do about it.

They shouldn't need to take a pic of it...BRP should replace it without any problems. At least that's what they do down here.

Seat

Thanks for all the info. I go to Barneys in St. Pete on Saturday for them to look at. They are a great dealership to work with.
