• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

seat belt and airbag

I bought a Hit Air jacket that is about as close as you're going to get to an airbag. You're clipped into the bike and if you come off, you inflate. If you forget to unclip when you get off your bike, the jacket does not inflate, in spite of what some think...trust me, I've forgotten plenty of times and never a problem. There is another company, impactjackets, that also makes a similar jacket...I went with the Hit Air due to what I read...the Japanese police use the Hit Air. The owner of the distributor will give a $50.00 discount to anyone from Spyderlovers who buys a coat...just mention my name...his name is Reuben... www.bikebone.com

The jacket is very comfortable, has a liner that is removable, and you know that you have a lot of extra protection should something happen!

I really recommend this jacket for maximum protection while on a bike...better the airbag hits the ground than your shoulder, back, pelvis, etc...

Being a crash reconstruction specialist, I can attest to the damage that is done in pedestrian and auto crashes...air bag technology is great to have and saves lives!

Great post, What model jacket do you have?

It is funny . . . . . .

. . . . almost every time I get on my Spyder, I look for the seat belt. :dontknow:

I agree with those who say it is a bad idea, but I look just the same.

I like the idea of the Hit-Air Motorcycle Riding Jackets - I have seen to many riders bouncing along the road like rag dolls. The neck, thorax and upper spine protection is especially important to me.

BoneCrusher, which one do you have?

I have the yellow and black one...forgot the name of the model. Call Reuben...he's the distributor...tell him I sent you...he said he'd take 50.00 off for any person I sent from spyderlovers...full disclosure, I get NOTHING for this...I always ask for discounts for spyderlovers people (like when I was dealing with Mosites) as for the most part, everyone here is pretty cool!

Thanks for the info. I am going to check them out as well.

I asked my friends if they thought my impact jacket made me look fat------
they said nope its not the jacket.
So I ware it allot---and I feel just a tad safer.
Have been around road rash----and its a hard long recovery.
It comes with a heavy duty liner ----- summer and winter jacket-----ok in Missouri ----in AZ maybe not.
It is heavy with elbo back arms and neck protection.
The sleves can be removed in the sumer-----big question why would you do that.????

Motza and I were trying to get Impactjackets to move faster with their second generation of jackets...being it was taking too long (now well over a year), I opted to get the hitair...it's a little more form fitting that what you are wearing but I'm sure they both serve the same function...let's hope we never have to find out!

I wrote a review here when I first got it...pretty complete...it can be searched for, if anyone is interested...

I have worn the jacket in hot weather and cold...it's comfortable in virtually any weather condition...
