Searching the Member List

It seems like quite often I see a post asking "Are there any Spyder ryders in the ????? area?". I think if we all entered our locations in the same format it would make the member list easier to search. I propose this format Country, State(provence, district or whatever it's called in your country), City . That way if I want to see a list of all the members in my state for instance I could search for the location of USA, Texas or add the city if I wanted to narrow it down that far. I've seen that done like that on other forums and it work quite well. Of course you get those that either don't get the message or choose just not to do it for some reason, but who cares about them anyway.

some folks would prefer to remain anonymous as to where they reside, but if you go to "Spyders To The Rescue" on the main page there is a list by city and State of the riders who wish to share their location

if you REALLY examined it, you would find that a great many members haven't been on the site in years. we just went thru this to clean up our group page.

My location has been up since day one.

You can do a data sort on the membership list to view member posts. It might be nice to be able to do the same with the state location. I tried that once and had no success.

One thing you will note if you scrutinize the membership list is that there are many posters with just one to ten posts and then they go silent. Some have not posted for a couple years or more.

A problem is that a lot of the data is not what most would call current because of membership turnover.

New posts, private messages FAQ's, and Community. Click on community and at the bottom of that box you will see members. It has it all.

If Community tab is not visible, click on the Forum Tab first.

Here's what you do..!!

click on community...then click on members list...then far right click on advanced search...then put your city and or state in the location box...you will get a list but if they are active etc who knows...:2thumbs:

I hide in plane sight.

I have never worried about hiding my location. Finding my real location would be more that enough effort required for most people. I live in a town that you can't get to unless you are going there. I have never lived to draw attention to myself and have been around long enough that if the NSA wanted to talk to me they would have already done so. I like the idea of the location format and have changed mine.
