• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can any of you DYI tell me if there is a washer of some sort on the shifter ... the reason I ask is because i removed mine to dremmel the plastic shifter in order to istall iso grips and now i feel shifter harder to shift just asking maybe someone can Help me with this ...thanks in advance

Tough one..!!

remember fellow ryder having broken the paddle not being able to get one without buying the whole control module. Ended up finding a used one on ebay. Checking on cheapcycleparts.com parts list they don't have a break down for the internal parts. If you have an extra washer left over may go there or the reassembly may need some adjustment...

I've wondered how sturdy that paddle shifter is. I can imagine the plastic breaking right near the pivot point.

BRP rigged it to only work with their grips.:banghead::hun: Just a thought.

I ran into the same problem when I did the same thing for the same reason. I lived with it for awhile because I found you can only get the paddle as a unit with the entire left control. I had to take mine apart for some reason and found that the post was broken. JB Weld will put it back together but it still didn't work right. When I had Charlotte to the dealer for another problem the service technition noticed it didn't shift so he spent about 45 min working on it and now it shifts great. I gladly paid him the $75 labor he charged. It didn't shift this good when I bought it. If you are handy and want to investigate it yourself I would start by spending a lot of time lookin into that hole, maybe even taking off the whole control to see what is what in there.

For those of you who want to put the clam shell GL 1800 grips on your RT SE5 I suggest cutting the housing on the grip down for clearance rather then the paddle. The paddle will take the abuse there seems to be no problem with that, but getting it installed right afterwards seems to be a problem.
