• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SE5 OWNERS PLEASE

wobbles

Thanks for your posts so far. I am learning more each time you post as I wait for my SE5. Ordered because i can't ride a manual you can guess that I've never ridden a bike or test ridden the :spyder:either. But answer me this if you would please. I know it has auto down. But, when upshifting; the rider is totally in control of when to upshift correct? I mean, I know yours are new ( and don't do anything crazy ) but if you wanted to take her up close to redline the bike would not automatically kick you into a higher gear right?? Should I maybe think about a SM5 with a heel-toe shift installed or is it once mastered, you have 98% control over what your bike is doing and not the bike telling you how to ride. I'm no kind of speed demon but if I wanted a truly automatic bike I would have gone with a Ridley or whatever they are.

Responses are greatly apprieciated

I also can't ride a manual do to no movement of my left foot. I have an SE5 and love it. You are in complete control over the upshift so long as its above the RPMS to keep it in that gear. So you could take it up to 9500 RPMS (redline 10k)and then shift and it would not try to do it on its own. This is my first open air vehicle and think it is awsome and was well worth the wait on the SE5. The only reason I could see for going with the SM5 with heal toe shifter is if you wanted to be in control of the down shift.
