SE 5 Creeping in gear

This afternoon when I cranked it up, temps moderate in 50's, and put it in R, it began to slowing creep backwards. Creeped also in 1st. Never had this to happen before. Any clues?

My oil has 3500 mi on it now but don't think that has anything to do with it.

Perhaps you just needed to give it an extra couple of seconds for the idle speed to drop down to the expected levels?:dontknow:

Not knowing your idle RPMs I would swag it as increased density in the engine oil since they share the same oil.

My RTL 2011 does that same thing cold which is one reason I tend to crank it before I put the helmet. and gloves on while sitting on it. Regardless of the ambient temperature.

It's a good practice to warm a gas engine with a wet clutch. Even on my two stroke dirt bikes. When the oil was cold and with clutch lever pull in, when I would put in in gear the bike would jump. My 2011 RS-S SE5 does the same thing when it's cold.

That is what happens with a wet clutch and cold oil. It is normal.

I hope all of you are right, but what threw me was that a few days ago it was down in upper 30's and it didn't creep. Will make sure that I give it more warm up time tho.

Mine dose it all the time 2013rts. When on long ride snd come into a town in 1st it wants to just go, with brakes on to? Dealer trying to fix. But to no luck yet...Orwell I will deal with it for now...2014 here by by 13 ...
