• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well I finally got my RT back together after the air-boxectomy and resinatorectomy and I have some screws and push things left over!

I think the shiny bolt held the resonator on but I'm lost as to where the rest went... I don't feel like taking it apart to find out where they might go... I should have one with a big washer left over because one of the panel nuts broke... but I don't have that one.

Your're not screwed. You're unscrewed. :roflblack: I hope you don't figure out where the screws and pins go by having a panel fly off as you're gong down the road.
 
Well..!!

Never having worked on an RT I am not sure. Outside of the shinny one they all look like they came from panels. Though the torx could also be from the throttle body oem...you will find out..!! :roflblack:
 
Extra parts

No problem! Looks like two choices:
Take everything back apart, piece by piece, meticulously checking and re-checking every part, (my technique), until you find where they go; or,
Embrace denial, put the parts in the bottom of your underwear drawer for safekeeping!
 
My husband has a diagram of the Spyder and the panels on a big piece of cardboard to keep this from happening. It works quite well for him as he has two RTs to maintain. You may want to consider that for any other "remodels" you do. :D

Here is my cardboard map. :) You can't see the pencil outline very well, but it is there. I also note any special bolts and plastic rivet at the hole on the board and I draw new sections as needed like for the windshield, console and other sub-sections. This shot is from when I pulled her Spyder apart to pull the handlebars to get powder coated and to put in JT's air filter.

The one screw with a washer probably is a panel screw and is behind the mirror. There are 3 of those and I sometimes forget one too!

That's a dang good idea there. I'm usually OK if I take it apart then put it right back but sometimes have problems if I leave it apart for a while and things get kicked around a bit.

If you have left overs it just means you are better than the factory as you did not need to use so many parts to get the job done. :roflblack:
 
I found out where two of the push pins go... and sorted out the mixed up screw.
