There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Screeching noise 2011 RT Limited

Under hard acceleration I have a screeching noise from the engine area
left side. Any thoughts on what this might be?
I notice this in first gear but it may be present in higher gears but it can
not be heard due to wind and road noise.

Possible clutch noise ?

Drive belt not adjusted, Usually too tight. ?
How many miles on the Spyder?

BRP has devised a cure. I think there is a service bulletin describing how to grease the belt. nojoke

Any screeching that I hear under "spirited" acceleration is gonna be coming from the pillion... :gaah: :roflblack:

Mine screeches when you back up and move forward. Very annoying. Brake pads have been changed to no avail.

My 2011 RTS does the same thing. I assumed it was the belt and that it was probably normal. I have 6300 mi. on mine. If you do find a service bulletin on greasing the belt, please post. I really didn't notice it until I had a half shell on and it's only during acceleration in first. Mine will squeal in reverse if it's been humid and sitting. I'm assuming that it's the disc and pads. My Chevy Z71 does the same thing after a rain if it's been parked.

Thanks for that bulletin, my friend. Stopping by the auto parts store after work to get some.

New medical terminology on Spyder : "Do not use more grease than prescribed" :roflblack:

O K Y, do not use more than prescribed, chocolatte flavor for the limited, RT, is water soluble so it may need future application if the squealing persist .:roflblack:

Hey gang, I went to the local auto supply store today looking for XPS Synth Grease. They did not carry that, but carried a synth grease by Valvoline. I purchased a large tube of that for $8.99 and some caliper brake grease to keep the squealing disc in back quiet. Just applied the specified amount to the rear sprocket and ran down to the end of the subdivision. I didn't know if that would be enough distance for the grease to disperse evenly or not. Once I turned around I gunned it. No sound. I stopped and gunned it hard through 1st and into 2nd. Nada. I'm very happy with the results so far. The caliper brake grease was only $3.49. Pretty cheap fix for two annoying, although small, problems.
Be cool!

Here's a top shot to show you how black this stuff is. Blends right into the sprocket and belt.
