• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scotch Guard your seat?

Getting ready to go on a week long ride...(Business trip) and need to know if anyone has opinion on whether or not to Scotch Guard the seat. I don't have time to order a rain cover...

Thanks!

I know there is a cream to waterproof your seat that would be a better choice. It would waterproof it without drying it out. I have always heard that Scotchguard would not be a good choice for this application. Try a local parts store.

IMO, Scotchgard would do little good except on a fabric seat. Even at that, it is more for stain protection than it is waterproofing. It is the punctures from the stitching that allow the most water to pass. If you don't have time to obtain a rain cover, throw a big black trash bag over the seat. You can open the seat, slip one over, close the seat (the latch will poke right through, then tuck in the edges. Not pretty, but functional.

I packed and I think I left both covers at home:banghead: I am 1400 miles from home.

oh well, plastic bag it is:p

In years past, I have used bees wax on the stitches...guess it's worth a try. Seems like it worked, or at least I think it did!

It's HECK getting old!
