I had a property fire here last Summer. Took a rug and hung it up on some caving rope. I used a pressure washer to clean it. Then I used a lot of unscented Febreze and sprayed it down. I let it dry out. Then I vacuumed it really well. There is no smoke smell in the rug.

The rug looked like a high end Persian. I am also guessing a very expensive cleaning job. :thumbup:
