• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Say what? How much?

Love the show....

He was smart to keep all the pertinent information and paper work...Wonder if he will ever wear it again....:yikes:

I like the show, but I often wonder if there truly are buyers that truly would pay that much for things....It's one thing to hear it's worth that much, but how much is anyone gonna actually pay?

Wish I had a watch like that to find out..

They did under estimate a Seymour card table. It was valued at over $200,000. The owner later sold it at Sotheby's. It went for $490,000!

I think by and large the "verbal approximations of value" are pretty good. The appraisers are in the business so they pretty well know their stuff. Most of the time the owners say they're going to keep the item so there probably isn't a lot of history of Road Show valuations vs. eventual selling price. For legal reasons AR values are not considered nor stated as appraisals.

For God sakes don't take to Rick Harrison at pawn stares, he wouldn't give you squat for it. :yikes:

This reminds me of a joke... :D
The Father says to his Son:
"What do you want for your birthday this year?"
The boy thinks about it for a little while, and answers:
"I want a watch"
The Old Man gets a bit of a funny look on his face, and replies:
"Well, I'm not sure about this. Let me check with your Mom. If it's okay with her: I guess that we'll let you."

:yikes:

It took me a bit. I guess that I am getting a bit slow on the uptake. Time for another cup of coffee. :coffee::coffee:

That's the best $120 he ever spent! You could see it not only left him speechless, but took his breath away! Good for him!
