Whatever works is the way I go...
When I bought my '10 I had saved up for "life unexpecteds"...and trust me when I say me buying a Spyder qualified as an 'unexpected'. So able to write check. Then I "wrote" myself a 4 year contract and put that amount away each and every month, just as if I was paying a lendor. By then I knew there would always be a Spyder in my life....My goal was replace the '10 in 2015...but then BRP came out with the 1330 engine and the I WANT IT NOW kicked in. Decision was made to buy...then I looked for best deal (Pitbull Powersports in Springfield, MO got the deal). Then I looked at what I was 'earning' on my $ and went shopping. Found a Credit Union in CA that didn't care where I lived and gave me a 1.49 interest rate and no loan/processing fees. I was making 3% on my savings so it became a no brainer. Yep I make a monthly auto payment...but absolutely no regrets on getting the 1330 (14 months and 34k miles later and it still rates :thumbup
.
Each individual has to decide what works for their situation: First your projected budget (and remember it takes $ to support a Spyder..unless you are a gifted mechanic!!..I'm not). After you set that amount and start putting toward it each and every payday...then you find the Spyder model that will fit into that budget. I personally experience as well as have observed for lifetime...if a person reallllly desires something they will make it happen. :yikes: or
