I have a 2014 RT-S with the BRP satellite receiver installed.
My trouble is that I only get reception about 60% of the time. Very annoying to say the least. Can't even listen to an entire tune. As soon as I go behind trees or a small hill, the signal fails. Could it be that the antenna could be weak or mounted in the wrong place. It's mounted under the rear trunk lid on the shelf.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Antenna placement is very important. In it's current placement, the problem could be worse if riding two-up as the passenger could block the signal with their body. My antenna is placed on the clutch reservoir. I rarely find the signal blocked by my body, although trees, buildings and mountains can and do block the signal from time to time. In some larger cities, there are also terrestrial broadcast antennas that fill in the gaps that a downtown area can make.

If, on the other hand, you find you are losing signal in areas where other satellite receivers work, you may have a problem that your dealer should address.

The antenna is line of sight in most places so the higher up on the vehicle the better. Trees hills and structures will block the signal.

also being in the north, it's tough as well as the satellites for Sirius are down south. I have this issue living over here in WA and if there's any hills or thick forests, or if I'm travelling north (when I was hauling for Werner) I'd lose the signal cause there's no satellite right over the north west.

Put my ant on the side where my cb ant should be works great. Find the on eBay for 25.00 ck it out. Also ck older post for ant for xm radio good pick on how to put it on?

I've wondered if a second antenna could be "siamesed" into place, and hidden up under a front speaker grille, or even mounted up on the dash... :dontknow:

Do they make splitters and would that actually help increase reception by utilizing two antennas ?

What I DO know; is that when the Missus is on her perch, my reception takes a real shot to the guts! :shocked:
